The economy of Azerbaijan and healthcare sector

• Over 400 healthcare facilities have been built or refurbished in Azerbaijan in the past five years.  Work on equipping them to international standards continues to take place regularly.
• About AZN 200 million (US $255 million) was spent on the implementation of nine state healthcare programmes during the same period.
• Budgetary expenditure in the healthcare sector amounted to AZN 483,425,000 (US $612 million) in 2010.
• This sum is due to increased to AZN 600 million (US $760 million) by 2013.
